  • Nope, no such thing as a hypoallergenic dog. All dogs shed and produce dander. All dogs produce allergens.

  • No such thing as a “hypoallergenic” dog. Some dogs ARE better for people with allergies, but any person can have a reaction to any dog (breed doesn’t matter.)

I personally don’t react to my schnauzer mix or my aunts shepherd mix, but i DO react to my mom’s friend’s golden retriever and golden retriever mix.

  • Absolutely no breed is hypoallergenic and Sheepdogs certainly are not. All too often designer mutt “breeders” (and some crap purebred breeders as well) will advertise their dog as being hypoallergenic. There are breeds which shed less than others which include all sizes of poodles, Shih Tzu, Schnauzer, many terriers, Portuguese Water Dog, but some people will still develop a reaction to them which is why it is important to spend enough time with them to see if the person develops a reaction. It is also important to remember that these breeds need a lot of grooming.
