I’ve got Beardies. I moved from California to NC. The dog boots keep the feet dry and clean in the rainy season and protect from salted streets. I’d invest in the raincoats too but I think my neighbors already think I’m nutty enough.
Make sure you brush your dog thoroughly after he gets soaked in the rain. Wet dogs can mat quicker if they aren’t brushed out.
I really don’t have any personal experience with this breed, but some years ago, I had a cousin that kept her Sheep dog clipped. She lived in Michigan.
My dog has long hair and you should get some booties because they will get snow balls in between their toes and it looks sore. In the rain try to keep it out because they will smell like all dogs when they get wet and they get cold really fast when they are wet!
