I can’t answer for Scottish gaelic, but in Irish gaelic it’s

    caora – sheep
    madra – dog

OPPS sorry..you would SAY it madra caorach, not he other way around. There is no one word for it

    ADDED:
Dave is, is right. Madra would make a good name. To say it right it’s mah dra with a kind of light roll to the r. Let us know what you name the pup :)
Sorry I had to edit my mistake!

  • The Gaelic for sheep dog is “Madra Caorach” Madra meaning dog and caorach meaning sheep. Madra is a good name.

The croatian word for sheepdog is “ovcar” which is where my collies name Oscar comes from.

If you type sheepdog into word then spell checker also comes up with a suggestion of “Sheezdi” which is also a good name!

In finnish, sheepdog is “Paimenkoira” Koira is also a good name.

Good luck with the name choice
